question about hcg

I always see everyone talking about thier levels and I feel clueless. When i was preggo my Dr never did any testing or measuring my growth. even when at 17 weeks she put me off work because my blood pressure was high. as soon as we get the info from the dr if the chromosone issue was heridetry or not i want to start trying again- if i can get over this darn uterine infection, just got out of hospital after 2 days and now i have to go every 8 hours for iv antibiotic (better then being on the materinty floor)

I had a miscarriage in December and my doctor checked them until they were at 0 because I did not have a d&c.  I am sure that your levels are guarenteed to go down if you have a d&c but they check them to make sure their isn't anything left in there.

On the other hand, My doctor is checking my Hcg Levels right now.  Wednesday they were at 29740 and today they are at God only knows.  They are thinking I might have  blighted ovum :( so they are checking to see if my levels double.  I am praying that they go up but my last miscarriage was at 34000 so I am trying to prepare for the worst

Regular pregnancies they do not concern you with the Hcg levels, they only send you for the Quantitative tests when their is a problem (at least from my experience) I have had 2 live births and 1 miscarriage, and well, we will see about this one

I had a D&C in Dec. and they never checked my Hcg levels after either...I kind of did it on my own in a roundabout way but using Hpt's until I got a negative......I know that some Dr.'s do follow your hormones back down to zero after a M/C or D&C, but mine didn't......If you are concerned, you could always ask your Dr. to order it.....Most will.  Good luck!
