Question

Hi everyone :) I am pregnant with my 3 child I have 2 boys ages 11 and 9. I am 8 weeks and this pregnancy is so different then both of my sons. I can't eat anything if I do I am right in the bathroom with diarrhea. I am not sure if this is normal at all. I dont have an OB appt till next week since I was waiting till I was a little further along since I just miscarried in April. I also havent told anyone yet for the same reason so I have no one to ask about this. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :)

in the meantime you should be taking folic acid for sure! you can pick it up from your drugstore. folic acid is the only crucial nutrient you need for the 1st trimester, although iron is a good idea.

Thank you for your help. I was really concerned that this wasn't normal at all. I dont take prenantal vitamins at all Bc of a condition that I have that doesn't allow me to have any vitamin A so I only take Iron supplements and was concerned that maybe that was another reason I  so sick. I am going to have to see an OB that specializes in Neurological conditions so maybe they can give me some vitamins or tell me what I can take so the baby isn't lacking anything.

Clysta is right: it is an under-reported symptom of pregnancy, but diarrhea does happen. i had it my first few weeks (and still do from time to time) and was so worried because only constipation came up as a normal symptom of pregnancy, but some extra digging led me to the conclusion that some women also can get diarrhea.

hope you feel better!

It can be normal. Most women get constipated due to the Iron in prenatal pills. Others get the opposite. The important thing is to keep hydrated.

I am hoping for a girl since I already have 2 boys. I wasn't sick at all with either of my boys I just wanted sure if it was okay. I still eat just smaller meals and drink plenty of fluids so I don't dehydrate. I am just hoping this won't last the entire pregnancy.

I know when my sister was pregnant with a girl which she didn't know at the time she was extremely sick for 3 months every day, my mom had to sit with her while her husband worked. She culdnt keep anything down! With her son she didn't get sick!
