Please Help!!!

Hello,

I am about 8 weeks pregnant according to my LMP on 9/17. I conceived either 9/26 or 9/28 which will specifically make me less that 8 weeks. I went for a vaginal u/s 11/14 and radiological report showed no cardiac activity. However, the fetus was showing 8 weeks. Do I have any hope that maybe there maybe a heartbeat within the next week? or maybe it was just too early to detect. I have not spoken to my DR as I have been just communicating w/ medical assistants. They made me wait all weekend on this emotional roller coaster and told me to call back Monday.

Please provide me w/ some professional answers.  Thank You

Some people, haven't had a heartbeat show up until 10 weeks or so, just means you didn't conceive when you think.  But I'd wait till tomorrow.  Demand another u/s in a week or so to keep checking!  Good luck

I am going to give you some known data.

Fetal heart rate can typically be detected by the middle of the 6th week of pregnancy - failure to detect cardiac activity when the fetal pole is greater than 4mm (about 6.5 weeks gestation) is an ominous sign especially if the fetus is measuring 8 weeks.
