If they are regular and get closer together go to the hospital. You are likely losing your plug

As long as your over 37weeks. This is fine. It sounds like the early stages of labor, what the "gooey brown stuff" was your mucus plug! For some, this doesn't mean much, sometimes people loose their plug and don't deliver for a month! But since your having contractions, I'd say early labor, as the other poster suggested, sit down, relax for a bit, try drinking water, if the pains don't go away after changing your activity, then its not BH. Its real labor. If the contractions stay at 5mins apart or become closer together, and they get really painful, its time to go get checked! Good luck! Keep us posted!

That gooey thing may have Been ur mucus plug u usually loose it a few days b4 delivery.. I suggest u sit down and relax and monitor these contractions, they may b the real thing but u don't want to waste a trip to the hospital if they r Braxton hicks.. So over the next hour monitor the pains and if they r still consistent and every few mins apart then I would go in.. But the pains can stop and go away and might do this until u actually go into labor!! Good luck let me know how it goes.. And congrats!!
