needing a little help ladies......

So, I'm back to work already...... I know is too soon but we need the money.

Anywhoo, my mom is watching Nicole and everything is going great. The problem comes when we go home.  She satrts crying nonstop (is actually everytime we go out).  I feed her and change her diaper and burp her but she still cries.  I carry her and she stops.  I leave her with daddy and she doesn't cry with daddy.  she is very content in her crib but as soon as I go in the room and start talking, she starts to cry and moves her head.  I also see her like trying to bite her hand off.  She puts her little fist in her mouth and starts making these sounds.  Of course I think she's hungry, but when I put the bottle in she just bites on it she's not sucking.  My question is do you guys think she could be teething so soon? She drools a lot with little bubbles and when she puts her fist in her mouth the crying stops but when she takes it out she starts crying again.

What could this be??

well, she is both breastfed and formula. She is 7 weeks old.  I was thinking about the formula not agreeing with her either. SHe's on enfamil lipil with iron.  I don't know if there is something better for her.  I told her ped and he says is normal(i will be changing peds)

KM604- She does take her binky and even with that she kind of makes weird sounds.  Maybe I do need to get a faster flowing nipple. She does cry sometimes when she's drinking.  I did try the finger thing and she stops crying. I just don't know what else to do anymore....

She could be collicy (sp?), that mostly happens during the evenings.  She could be teething and her gums hurt - maybe try putting a cold soother on her gums, or rub her gums with your finger and see if that helps.  If she cries when she eats, she may need a faster flowing nipple (that happened with my daughter and the faster flow helped dramatically).  I do find that my husband can calm her down better, don't know why.  She also doesn't wake up in the middle of night when he sleep next to her (she's in the pack-n-play right now) but when I sleep by her she wakes up around 3am every night - it never fails! LOL.  My daughter sometimes plays with the bottle too.  She also has her fist in her mouth, sucking on it every chance she gets.  Have you tried a binkie (pacifier)? I know some people don't like those, but it has been a god send for us.  It's like she sees the binkie and there's some sort of magnet pulling it into her mouth.  But it definitly helps when shes fussy, because sometimes she needs something to soothe her.  If you are breastfeeding, I did read that doctors are now saying binkies don't affect the latching issue like they previously thought.  Ok well I hope some of what I said helps, but I totally know where your coming from and it can be frustrating not knowing what's wrong or not being able to help.

How old is she again?  I would recommend giving her some tylenol and see if that helps.  If it is pain related, that should take care of the crying issue.  My son got his first 2 teeth at 4 months so it's not unheard of.  Now if she's crying mostly in the evenings and she is less than 3 months old, I would say she's an evening fusser and the only thing that you can really do is carry her if that's what soothes her.  But once 3 months hits, that should subside.  Does she have issues with her formula or is she breastfed?  Maybe her little belly hurts because the formula (if she's on formula), is not sitting right with her.  Just try to rule out whatever you can.
