nervous

So my doctor told me I had bacterial vaginosis last week. I finished my medicine and I feel fine now, but I'm nervous to have sex again cause my doctor said I could get it back, but men don't need medicine to clear it up it just goes away for them. So if he wears a condom do you think I'll still be at risk to get it again?

iive had bv but the doc told me be careful make sure he is washing all cracks especially in between the balls and thighs i suffered from yeast infections also child i was miserable in the beginning of my pregnancy i am27 weeks be 28 monday and since 15 weeks of pregnancy i have been great no bv or yeast attacks my husband soaked in vinegar in a bath for 20 minutes for 7 days in a row (dark vinegar) drank half a cup of vinegar to flush bv nd yeast out his sperm and he washed with vagisil Tmi but it worked very very well iihavent had a problem since... Look on google it gives you many of home remedies you can go by.. Trust i know how it feels for bv to show up outta nowhere its uncomfortable and makes you feel dirty but its from hormone levels rising.. Since its already gone be careful though because bv causes yeast infection and utis to occur just make sure he is clean before sex and you clean with a non scented feminine wash it doesnt hurt to let him wash with it to hmph if you wanna bump that bad trust go to google and look up what both of you can do to avoid transferring it back and forth
Hope I've been help

You should be fine to have sex.
My siater-in-law had it twice during her last pregnancy and it went away.
Just wear the condom to ease yourself and be able to enjoy.

Bacterial vaginosis is a very resilient bug.  I think you can have sex without a condom although to be safe, use the condom.  Men can be affected and truthfully, if you have a reoccurrence, they will most likely treat him as well.  Often, the male partner is given flagyl along with the female.

So, time will tell.  Don't be surprised if it comes back though as this is a hard one to eradicate easily.  Wear loose clothing, cotton underwear, change it when you sweat or work out.

Hope it's gone for good though. good luck

I'm assuming no one knows an answer, I've found the only time no one answers is when either nobody has been through it or has what they thinks the right answer. I think wearing a condom for a couple weeks to let him get rid of it fully is a good idea. Since condoms usually prevent infection from being passed except herpes, hope this helps some lol

That's a good question I wish I had an answer for you. I would think there is less likely a chance of you getting it again though
