no hot tubs?

Are pregnant woman not allowed at all in jacuzzis? And what happens if you do go in? I'm 5 months and I took a brief dip in the hot tub and my mom flipped and said I was boiling my baby.

I sat on the edge with only my legs in the water for about 10 minutes as opposed to getting all the way in and nothing bad happened, thank goodness. Definitely not something I will do after reading @brittbritt's comment.

A friend told.me a horror story about a woman who was 6 months pregnant and was dumped by her boyfriend she was devestated and no longer wanted baby so she sat in a hot tub long enough to end baby's life and kick started preterm labor. I can't say this is true but I've been told to avoid jacuzzis so there has to be some truth to it. Always be careful and best of luck to you in your pregnancy!

Don't do it. My mum went in a steam room/hot tub when she was 24 weeks and ended up having a miscarriage due to the heat being too much for the baby. (This was before it was advised against)

My OB said its ok for me to sit in a hot tub no hotter than 94 degrees all night long if I want. Ask your doctor! My normal body temp is 97.9 instead of 98.6 so make sure to consult with your personal doc first! :))

It is not good to raise your core temperture as it can cause birth defects and fetal death. I am sure if you were only in there for a short period of time you don't have to worry but now that you know you should deffinatly avoid them.
