The recommended weight gain for the first trimester is only supposed to be 4-5 pounds. You dont need to start gaining the first few months. That's what I was told by my doctors. I lost ten pounds bc I was also very sick... they told me that staying hydrated was more important.. I had a lot of ice pops I took my vitamins and I tried to eat what I could.. try to eat small snacks.  Like a fruit.. apples are good.. they helped also pears..

Hi I'm 12 weeks and i know exactly how you're feeling. Every food i thought of eating made me wanna barf. I wanted what i wanted when i wanted it or i didn't want anything at all. But as I'm nearing my 2nd trimester it has gotten way better. It'll pass hang in there. You have to try to make yourself eat. Your baby is at a critical time of development and is very vulnerable to birth defects. Stay on those prenatals and get all the nutrition you can.
