When is it safe to have sex?

Hi ladies I gave birth to my baby boy two weeks ago and was told I should wait 6-8 weeks before having sex again , did any of you have sex sooner? Also when I do go to have sex will it be sore?

i would wait tha full 6 weeks, give your body some time to heal, cause you dont want to hurt your body, so i would wait plus than you dont gotta worry about getting pregnant again right away. lol jkjk

I waited the six weeks that my doctor said to. I was still feeling sore sometimes even a year after. I think it took my stitches extra time to heal and then the scar was really sensitive

I had stitches and I waited until after 6 weeks. I felt like a virgin all over again between the nervousness and sensitivity. It was a bit sore I guess. My husband was super sweet and gentle. It turned out to be an amazing night. I'm glad we waited, I'm sure if I wasn't healed up all the way it would have hurt really bad.

Thanks everyone for getting back to me. I had stitches so I think I might just stick it out and wait the recommended time, better safe than sorry I guess

Jist be cautious if you do it before your body is healed your cervix wont completely close and you have more of a chance for yeast infection and bv and things like that i had sex after four weeks with my last and i will most definitely be waiting the 6 to 8 this time it jacked my sh*t UP for a while :D

The doctor normally says to wait 6 weeks to guarantee avoiding infection...most women i know (including myself) had sex sooner. I did at 3 weeks and it just felt sore so i had to be gentle. I think the pain varies among women cause i knew someone who couldn't for 6 months cause it was so painful.

I had ALOT of stitches with my first and wasnt cleared until 7 weeks after and even then i felt not ready. It was a few weeks after that before i took the plunge.  It was tender but not too painful.

I had sex at 4 1/2w pp. It didn't hurt. I based it off how I felt you know your body are you still feeling sore or tender? Did you get stitches? If so you need to wait 5 weeks.

My boyfriend comes home Friday, so I'll be doing it then. It will be three weeks and two days since I had her, but I had a c section. I heard its painful.
