Wife's pregnancy

Dear Doctor ,
my wife and i are trying to get pregnant its been 3 months since we are trying and this is the third month , her last periods started on the 24th of April and we had intercourse from 1st may on wards till 12th may every second day . recently she had spotting which lasted from almost 4 days my wife's periods are very regular . she had cramps and also she had lower back pain and some virginal discharge yellowish color she had been experiencing this since almost 1 week and now everything almost stopped .. there is nothing she feels now and her period is due 24th of may 2013 . we had a pregnancy test on 21st may and it was negative . she has never experienced symptoms like this . what do you think happened?

When i did the tests i started them i think it said day 5 after the first day of my period cuz a woman can ovulate within just a few days after ending her period if she didn't start testing until 2 weeks after the first day of her period and the test kept saying no then you guys might hasn't missed her ovulating for this cycle but then again you might not have bcuz of the bleeding she experienced this is a tough situation i guess you'll just have too wait a few more days and take another test she could also go to her ob/gyn and hadn't them do a blood test to test for pregnancy to see if her hcg levels are raised at all her body will start producing hcg 4 days after conception occurs so that will tell you definitely i hope it all works out the way you want it to though :) but if you still get a negative test do the ovulation tests again and start them 5 days after the first day of her period cuz if it is negative then you probably missed her ovulation by testing too late good luck to you guys! I hope you become blessed with a pregnancy very soon :)

Hey sandy we tested almost from second week onwards after the last day of her period..  She had lower back ache..  Cramps like just before her period..  And of course the spotting it was brownish and pinkish sometimes she said.. And constant headache which lasted almost 5 days..  And now. She don't feelaanything..

How many days altogether did you guys test? did you use all of the tests in the box? If so she might not have ovulated this cycle we woman don't ovulate every cycle and sometimes there's still a rise in lh but no egg released and sometimes there isn't even a rise at all... Hmmm but i do agree that her symptoms could have been implantation bleeding too but i don't understand how there wouldn't have beena rise

hi sandy , we did buy the ovulation test kits and we tested every single day till ovulation but there was so sign of LH .. but then we still had intercourse . it was mentioned in the Kit that if you had intercourse it is possible for the sperm to be still present and the egg may have been fertilised as soon as she ovulated . my wife is just 24 and im 28 , she has been even on 5mg of folic acid given by the gyne since the past 2 months . she has never had spotting like this before ever in her life . and now its just 2 days left till her next period .. im really hoping for the best and i have totally ignored the test we took , it may be invaild because it might be too early and we took it in the afternoon not even in the morning.

If the test is negative though i bought a digital ovulation test kit from the pharmacy i used the nondigital one for 2 months before buying the digital and they are really hard to read so i got the digital one my third month of trying with no success.  I tested my first morning urine every day until the stick said yes that i was ovulating and then we had intercourse for 3 days straight as many times as possible 11 days later i took a home pregnancy test and it was positive! I think if you can narrow down which day she ovulates more than likely you'll be successful with getting her pregnant :) so if the test is still negative in a few days go buy one of these as son as she starts her next period and start testing according to the directions good luck! I hope it works for you guys too!! :)

The spotting could be plantation bleeding which hopefully means she's pregnant. Especially if she doesn't usually spot inbetween periods. Have her retest in a couple days good luck :)

I don't believe the doctor posts in this forum, try the one labeled 'pregnancy'
But, to give you some advice, she should wait a couple days past her expected date for her period and then take a pregnancy test using her first morning urine. Good luck!
