It depends on where you live or what hospital you go to i went into early labor at 35 and my ob said i was full term and at first he didn't want to stop it but i started crying saying i wasn't ready and the baby nursery wasn't finished and ect so he stopped it and told me if it happened again they wouldn't stop it because they consider 35 and up full term i live in Detroit MI and im at Sinai Grace Hospital
Hardly anyone makes it to 40 weeks? Not true at all. My first two I had at 41 weeks. Along with a lot of other moms I know..
In utah if it is your first baby, they will NOT schedule an induction before 42 weeks.. Unless there is some sort of complication that makes it necessary to get baby out. If it's not your first baby and you've had to get induced before they will schedule you as early as 39 weeks, or as late as 42.. Depending on what date you want your little one to be born on. So for me unless he comes on his own I'm gonna be 42 weeks pregnant before my doctor will start me.. :/
39 weeks is the new standard for full term(since mid 2013) 37 weeks use to be it but not now.
It used to be 37 weeks but they just changed it to full term being 39 weeks. Too many doctors were inducing at 37/38 weeks and complice were arising. There are still so many things baby needs to do between weeks 37-39. So now it is the law that unless medically necessary you can not be induced before 39 weeks.
I hear both 37 and 39 weeks... not sure
37 week's is full term. Your due date is at 40w but baby can come 3 weeks early or 2 weeks late. If you go into Labour at 37w the doctors won't do anything to stop it and will let baby come. 36w is the last time it is counted as pre-term labour
Alot of people make it to 40 weeks, my first was 42 weeks and my second was born on her due date lol.
My doctor said babies are most commonly born between 37 and 40 (: 40 is TECHNICALLY full term, but hardly anyone ever makes it to 40. Except my coworker. She was 41 weeks and 3 days when she had her first lmfao!
I just go by 37 weeks. Thats what it says in my pregnancy book, thats what my doctor said, and thats what everything else ive ever heard said.
Everyone i know, goes by 37 but ive heard some people say its 39 now..
