is labor near ftm

Hello ftm im 40w+1d I've been having mild contractions all day I also went to the bathroom and wen I go pee it hurts like im contracting and only once when I whipped I saw a pinkish discharge. Im a ftm does this mean I should go to hospital or wait till I can't take the pain

I called the advice nurse and she told me to wait until the contractions are 5 min apart since I am a ftm it will take longer so I am going to just keep timing thank you ladies

The pink tinge was probably a bit of bloody show which can indicate the beginning of labor. Keep us updated and good luck!

I would wait. The worst feeling in the world is being told toy aren't far enough yet, try again later. I had three false alarms with my daughter and I swear each one stressed me out more. Stress can slow or stop labor so I would definitely wait. Start timing your contractions and if they fall into a pattern and start coming closer together, that's when it's time to head to the hospital. Good luck mama!
