Modern microwaves emit little to no radiation, it's all kept inside. Also the radiation used in microwaves is not much more than youd get sitting out in the sun for a little while.

You should actually never stand in front of the microwave, pregnant or not. Microwaves are a type of radiation, and every time you stand in front of it, you are picking up radiation. It's not a huge amount, but if you do it often, it can cause problems.

Sorry, I don't mean to change the subject.. But I've always wondered why you couldn't stand in front of the microwave while pregnant... I'm not going to lie, I've dove it a few times waiting for my food to get done... Is it really bad?

So long as you don't stand In front of the microwave. Reason they say don't microwave food is when you eat tv dinners okay to eat every once and a while but the sodium in them are not good for you at all.
