once diagnosed with underactive thyroid how long to become pregnant?

After getting off of the pill it took me 7 months to get pregnant.

I also have an underactive thyroid and my doctor told me that I should not have a problem conceiving as long as my thyroid levels were normal.

Thanks for replying. Yes it seems my underactive thyroid has been the cause of my infertility as its not been treated as its only just been diagnosed as im only 24 & 1 year ttc now so they checked my thyroid. Im now on medication & doctor says when levels are put correct with the right dose there should be no problem getting pregnant. Just wondering those in same position who started treating it with meds how long to get that positive :)

Some women that have problems with their thyroids do have trouble concieving. Try looking it up on Yahoo or Google. I read an article about this very same thing in American Baby magazine. Best of luck to you.

I was diagnosed a year ago. I was also on birth control at the time. I went off birth control last August and was pregnant beginning of December! I was told thyroid issues shouldn't matter with getting pregnant or after you become pregnant.
