Go over the risks with your Dr. Every baby is different. You're Dr isn't going to do anything to intentionally harm you or baby, but everything has risks you should know about. There is a score they will give you based on baby position, how much you're dialated, how thin your cervix is, etc. The better the score, the lower your risks are during an induction. Good luck!!
Yes its safe they won't usually let you go over 43 weeks anyways I was induced at 42w 4d with my first, anything after like 37-38 weeks its fine ...I hope you have a safe and easy labor :) good luck and congrats on your soon to be newborn !! :)
My doctor offered to induce at 39+4, but I declined because I want him to come on his own. But instead, we have a tentative induction date of 40+4. (A monday). There might be medical reasons to induce sooner, but your doctor will advise you on that.
My doctor told me that they won't let their patients go past 41 weeks because that can be unsafe for the baby but they wouldn't induce me before 41 weeks. They say that inducing a mom, especially a first time mom, can lead to a greater chance of a C-section needed to be performed.
