overweight mama

I'm a heavy set woman and I'm 11weeks pregnant. I'm not dieting just making healthier choices on good. Is it safe if I continue to lose wright. So far I lost 11 pounds since s few weeks before the pregnancy.

I would say ask doc. I don't think losing weight is necesaroly bad if you're just making better choices and good for you for doing so! But I would day look at a bmi chart find out what is a normal healthy weight and add 40 lbs to that and if you stay above that number you should be fine and then when baby pops you lose that 40 and voila. I am not overweight but I had am extra 15 lbs still from my first baby and the doc only wants me to gain 25-30 this time because I had more weight than I should. So when I lost five lbs and wasn't gaining anything in the first 19 weeks of pregnancy no one was worried about it. I have since gained those five lbs and another 4-5 on top of that. Basically I just don't think the doctor would say no as long as you don't lose to much that you wouldn't be in a normal weight area if you had started at your bmi chart weight. Good luck to you though and congrats on the baby :)

It is fine as long as it is controlled and youre getting all of the necessary nutrients you need! I am in yhe same boat, I am a larger girl as well. I am doing the same thing, not dieting just eating healther, and its completely safe, in fact good for you and baby!
