overweight?

Right now I'm almost twelve weeks pregnant and weigh 270. It was unplanned and I'm very worried about my weight effecting the baby. Any comforting stories?

I know the feeling with the belly! And no one around me understood, the hubs would tell me differently and that I was getting round and such but didn't get my desire until I started to finally firm up and he could truly feel the difference. But do not let it make you sad or depressed!! It will come when ready and you will still have the glow and beautiful kicks :)

In regards to the sick I did not have much sickness but u was always dead tired. I had to get my hubs to force me into exercise to keep from getting into a tailspin. We started by taking the 6 flights of stairs 4 days a week and it helped tremendously to just be walking (mind you it wasn't easy at all while I was that tired but you feel awesome and accomplished) I got a second wind in the second tri and I was able to add more outside walks and stuff and bought a workout DVD.

With the water space it out! Drink a bunch of smaller gulps and have them more frequently but don't drink whole glasses as one time. And make sure to sit upright when you eat and do not lay down to rest until at least an hour has passed and it should help relieve the heartburn. Also I know some people drink more tea and that helps settle things for them. And eat smaller portions I noticed that helped me and I had to remove various foods and some carbs when I realised it was helping to create heart burn

Thank you!!! I'm pretty sad about the belly part too. But hopefully I'll show later on. I've lost a few pounds since being pregnant but working out, even just walking, has been hard because I.m so sick and so tired. I'm hoping I'll got a second wind going into my second trimester. And I try to drink water. Before I was pregnant I drank a ton of  water. But now it gives me heart burn. :(

I am also overweight. I was very worried that I wasn't slim prior to getting pregnant but I am happy and healthy to date. I started at 224 and now at 31 weeks and days I am at 240 and have been that weight for about a month. I have stayed very active (exercise and frequent walks) and changed my diet completely to try and avoid Gestational diabetes and other complications. My Midwives are both confident that with healthy eating and moderate exercise overweight women can have healthy pregnancies. Keep an eye out for too much sugar or sodium (try to cut them out completely) and drink TONS of water and your body should adjust and shift weight around. I have heard of larger women losing weight at the beginning and levelling off. Hope this helped. And congratulations on the pregnancy!!!

The only concern I had in the beginning was a bit of envy because I didn't have a typical pregnancy belly. But it was awesome for my super private lifestyle as people couldn't really tell I was pregnant until about a month ago and now it is awesome cute round and hard(ish) lol. BUT I have met several plus size pregnant woman who had awesome bellies showing from 16weeks! So all in all do not stress and keep an honest dialogue with your practitioner
