painful constant braxton hicks.

Hey all...I'm a little curious and confused. I'm having regular, long braxton hicks that are really tight and go to my back, and are becoming more painful. But I know for sure they are not real contractions since I've had two kids before and know the excruciating pain associated with them. But the are constant and painful and hard to breath. Thing is, I'm only 19 weeks 1 day. Anyone have this or am I going into preterm labor? Anyone have the same thong but say its normal?

Thank you ladies. I was told to take 50 mg benedryl and they stopped within 15 mins. :) I hope it stays good now.

I'm 19 weeks 2 days and I get them, they are not so much painful as annoying to me bc its hard to breathe/move when I'm having them. I go periods without having them but I will get a cluster and those worry me. Luckily mine go away and I haven't went into any sort of labor yet, I've had two kids also so I know its not the real thing. What is really scary is I had this happen to me with my first baby and I had to be put on terb for the last 4 months to stop the contractions bc I was already 3 cm dilated at 24 weeks. I ended up making it to 36 weeks with her, but probably due to the medication. Check with your doctor to make sure these pesky BH are not changing your cervix.

If they are regular and you can time them and have had more than 6 in an hour and they do not go away with rest and hydration you need to call your dr because they will want you in for monitoring.  Call immediately.  Good luck.
