Going for my strep b test on Thursday kind of scared lol does it hurt ?

Its true u can have it one day and have it gone the next. That's why its mostly done between 35-37weeks. Its only 2sec long they just swab the very outside of the vagina and outside of ur butt. If u test Positive u get treated while connected to the IV as ur in labor they inject the medication in it before baby comes through so he won't catch it in his way out

I know it is always present, it just doesn't always show up active. And my midwife said you can show active one day and not the next. If I was active im not putting those chemicals into my baby. I am doing natural stuff just in case I were, but its like a 3% chance that a baby will die or get sick from it.

Hi I tested positive for this. Its is the same thing as getting a pap smear done. if you have it they will give you some antibiotics during labor every four hours. I went into labor July 1 and had.my baby on the 2 She is healthy. The only thing about the antibiotics is that when its first going in your iv it will sting or burn. Or just hurt.

No it don't hurt at all. It's faster then a pap smear and they only swab the outside or at least that's what I felt of your toosh. Its fast and easy

It's the same as getting a pap smear done. It isn't true that you can test positive one day and negative the next. It is an infection that is always present and causes no problems for us. But if you have it and aren't aware it can pass to baby during the birthing process and in rare cases newborns die because of it. I would never refuse a test that could save my child's life. If you do test positive they will just give you IV antibiotics every 4 hours during labor to prevent the infection spreading to your baby.

I didn't hurt for me, I didn't even notice he had done it! He told me after. I'm really sensitive so usually I notice things like that. Every doctor is different so I'm sure it depends on how fast they are and how gentle they are but I wouldn't worry about it

I just had mine done yesterday. It doesnt hurt just feels weird for a second lol

My doctor said they would swab my butt too! Lol I guess for some people it's just the vagina and some it's both but I've heard it's more just uncomfortable than painful

I don't think it would. I didnt get it done cuz there is no point cuz you can be positive for it one day and negative the next.
