pcos and ttc

has anyone in here been diagnosed with pcos, and had any luck conceiving? i am not sure what to think about all of this so if anyone has had any experience with this sort of thing i would appreciate some help!!

thanks to all of you!! i have 1 child already... but im not sure if this is something that i just developed, or it just went untreated... but i am vert appreciative of everyone telling me about their experiences!! i will keep everyone updated on if we conceived or not!! and good luck to all who are ttc... and baby dust to all!!

Hi! there...im 29 and developed pcos at 25 and didnt get my periods for almost a year...then i got treated and then was put on bc to regularize my periods and metphormin 500mg for my ovaries...ever since then ive had an exact 24 day cycle...a year ago i stopped using bc as the doc said i had to stop it a year b4 i wanted to concieve...now its almost 16 months that im off bc and my cycles have been good...now im ttc and hoping to be blessed anytime...why im telling u all this is because its important to regularize ur periods and have ur ovaries doing well to ovulate...the doc also said i cant stop using metphormin till i get preggo...im jus waiting...wish u good luck and alot of baby dust....

I have pcos, and I am currently 17 weeks pregnant.  It took me 6 years, and I had one miscarriage.  However, it wasn't until I started seeing a RE that things got straightened around enough with my body to actually give us a chance.  I was with him for about 9 months before we became pregnant.  We tried clomid, but it didn't work.  The combination that worked for us was femara with a trigger shot, and IUI (it worked on our second cycle of femara and our first IUI).  I'd be happy to share any of my experiences with you if you want, feel free to contact me privately.  Good luck to you!

From what i have heard it does have an affect on the menstrual cycle. Clomid helps and induces ovulation, clomid works to stimulate a womens ovarys to mature and increase numbers of follicles every month, because clomid increases the number of mature follicles in the ovarys the drug will also increase the likely hood of ovualtion and pregnancy so it should get you ovulating.

i have.. he put me on provera and clomid... im just not sure what this whole pcos thing is, ive done some reasearch, and everything i have read so far says that i do not ovulate, or so i think, so thats why the dr gave me clomid?

Maybe search on the internet too as they come back with some good links and have some useful information. Have you spoken to your doctor about it
