In total about 4-6 weeks, which is part of the reason you should be be having sex right after. Locgia rubra is the first stage, very similar to a period it's blood red in color and can last 3-5 days, lochia serosa is the second stage which usually continues for another 3-5 days after that and the discharge is more pinkish tinged, lochia alba is the final stage which can last until 6 weeks after delivery and the discharge is white. It is important to wait 6 weeks for sex because the cervix is still slightly open in order to allow everything to shed from the uterus and by this time the discharge is whitish because of bacteria that are colonizing in the vagina. These bacteria aren't harmful in the vagina, but sex can assist in spreading it to the cervix/ uterus which can cause infection
It varies. For me it was 2wks then off & on for 4 more weeks.
What she said^^^ it may take weeks after losing your lochia or months to get your menstrual cycle
How long does it usually last?
Your uterus is shedding the lining and kind of "cleaning itself out" its similar to a period except the flow is called lochia and goes through 3 phases
