Ask before hand, I had to take out all piercings before any surgeries I have had. You can have them removed from a piercing shop I bet they will be more careful about scarring, the hospital may just cut them out without caring about leaving a scar on you.

Sometimes they put tape over your piercings.. I had emergency ovarian surgery at the beginning of my pregnancy w an epidermal and I couldn't take my boob piercings out .. Were too tight and til this day have only managed to take one out so they did that. It is best to just ask. I know I'll be removing my other one soon at the piercing shop. My Marilyn Monroe I can remove myself and put back in.

Where I live, all jewelry must be removed for delivery.
