Originally yes, and they were bred also to not be aggressive to any people in case you needed to break them away from the fight. Idiots who breed these dogs to be aggressive is who have ruined the breed. Genetics and How they are raised determine how they will be. You can't have a genetic mess of a dog, and expect to have no issues. Parents need to be careful with all animals after they bring the baby home.
Pit bulls were originally bred to be nanny dogs. So its in their nature to be protective of babies and kids.
Ok I have a chinchilla and even she knows I'm pregnant. She loves to hop on my belly which she's never done before and she just acts even more cuddly than usual. Animals are highly intelligent. I mean if an oversized rodent knows, I guarantee dogs know
One of our pitbulls, well she's more of a daddy's girl lol she still acts the same way towards me she doesn't care if I'm pregnant or not lol I haven't seen any difference with any of the animals I'm around & I'm almost 9 months pregnant
I know from experience that pit bulls can be some of the most clingy, yet most loving dogs, especially for babies and children. Ours never cared too much for me while I was pregnant, but once our first daughter came home from the NICU, he did not leave her side. He'd lay next to her pack n play if she was in it, her swing and her crib. One day our daughter became unswaddled while I was in the bathroom and got a blanket over her face and our dog went berserk by her crib and barked until I came back in. So yeah, they're wonderful dogs. Any dog can be bad as a result of bad owners. Embrace all the puppy love and give lots of affection. :)
Yes she knows. The reason I took a pregnancy test was because of my dog would just stare at me acting abnormal lol.
It has nothing to do with pitbulls. Don't be ridiculous
That is why you never give the dog access to the baby. Pitbulls can be great dogs, but with all the inbreeding and linebreeding so many of those dogs just aren't stable. I'd wanted a pitbull for awhile, but decided against it.
As much as I love my dog I would never leave my newborn by its self I'm so paranoid about that . But I be aware of my dogs behavior as well .
I adore pitbulls. They're incredible dogs. What I'm about to say applies to every breed small or large and no matter the reputation. Alwayssss monitor the behavior of your dog around a baby. Babies can make ANY DOG nervous no matter how loving. A dog will nip their own newborns to teach them. They may never mean to hurt a baby but accidents happen. ALWAYS show your dog affection and give positive reinforcement for good behavior around babies. But DO NOT leave a newborn alone with a dog. (I am a HUGE ANIMAL LOVER. UNDERSTAND AN ANIMAL'S NATURAL BEHAVIOR AND YOU PREVENT ACCIDENTS)
My dogs definitely know and so do my cats! One of my cats likes to cuddle next to my belly and she will put her paw on my stomach.
And the parents went too prison
I have a baby pit I bottle fed, she is about 8 weeks now and follows me everywhere. And I have a 4 yr old pit that stays by my side. And then my cockerspaniel is by me when no one is around.
I looovee dogs! But you just have to train it not to bite stuff like that bc there was a couple i knew and they had t pitbull and they just had a new born baby (2 weeks old) well the pit bull loved the baby alot but it snapped and the pitbull attacked the baby and killed it. There was nothing the parents could do.
Plz be aware!
I have 3 pits at home and they're always all over me!!
I have a cat she don't like me very much lol and right my pit and ways lays her head on me but it hurts after awhile so I be removing her head off my stomach .
She do that already like when other dogs come around she starts too growl and when ppl wanna touch my belly lol its crazy but I'm glad she's gonna be protective of us and I'll be sure to tell ppl too be careful when they around the baby .
I have 2 pitbulls and they treat me the same lol but my cat smells my.stomach and she use to try and lay on it
It definitely could be. Some people don't believe it but I think dogs know when you are pregnant. That's when my dogs want to be with me 24/7. I have a weiner dog now and she is constantly laying on my stomach lol. If she's not laying completely on my stomach her head has to be on me lol.
Yes maam... she is going to be very protective of you s d the baby! When the baby come have others be careful around the baby when the dog is near.
