placenta eating?

Are any of you ladies looking into this? Have you or are you planning on eating your placentas? Its an odd topic, yes but I'm really curious about it and hope to know more about it. Does it really restore your nutrition? Is that the only reason why women eat it? If not why else? Ifs there any good websites out there with good info?

I encapsulated my placenta and ate it. Really helped my milk supply, energy levels, slowed downmy bleeding and helped prevent post partum depression. Best thing I ever did and it's in capsules so its not like you taste it or anything.

Yeah.....doesnt sound sooo hot...there are sooooo many natural vitamins and stuff out there tjay can energize u, keep i young, fight post pardum depression...i would look into those first...if its like anything else, cooking it would probably diminish alot of nutrients and make it pointless...eating it would be kinda canibalistic and vampirish....uck :-/ animals eat their placentas, but they also eat their own poo...and whats the purpose of freezing it? U have ur precious baby to hold every day! :-) sorry, dont mean to sound bad, but ick!!! :-) lol

i have heard of cultures keeping them in their freezer to eat many years later to help them look younger.

Mrsnelson2010 is right about making it into a daily vit, that seems like an interesting and rather easy way of doing it, just wonder how much it costs? Xx

Never heard of eating the placenta i wouldn't eat it seen both my cats and dogs do it and looks pretty disgusting. my friends aunt saved hers and has it stored in her freezer, with her first she actually buried it. i think that's weird too.  not to bury part but storing it in her freezer.

Yep! Doulas can do it :) or you can contact a midwife who might be able to get you in touch with someone that can do it! :)

Google doulas in your area. Most of them will encapsulate your placenta in your home after you've delivered for around $100-200 depending on the doula. They also will help with anything else you might need.

It helps with energy levels helps fight post partum depression it actually has a lot of benefits and actually u dont even have to eat it you can actually pay someone to cook it and encapsulate it so you take it in pill form like a vitamin.

I wont be doing it, but there are a lot of benefits to having it encapsulated!

I mean idk if I could do it myself personally. I'm just very interested in it, and what exactly it does for your body? I've heard that it can also help energize you also

My partner likes to make a joke out of taking it home and cooking and eating it lol but hell no!! I wouldn't put that anywhere near my mouth lol. I have had friends who took there's home and planted a tree on it so the tree grew as their child did.

We're all essentially animals and every other animal eats their placenta. It does restore many nutrients needed for breadtfeeding... if you're not a human with access to vitamins. No judgement, but I definitely wouldn't do it. I saw my placenta with my son. Disgusting.
