plus size and pregnant

DID BEING PLUS size make pregnancy harder on you?Do ultra sounds still work well? When does you baby bump come in if you already have some extra baggage? Is being plys size and pregnant a health risk?

Im a chunky monkey and im 37 weeks. Just like everyone else we have to watch what we eat and how much. No problems with ultrasound beside a stubborn baby. Only problem I have is my blood pressure and im doing ok with monitoring everything

I'm a size 20, I had lost about 40 lbs before I got pregnant and as soon as I got pregnant I jumped up about 15 lbs but the beginning of my pregnancy I was consistently losing weight. I slowly gained about 7 lbs total since I started going to the doctor. I'm 35 weeks 3 days and the only trouble I have had is finding maternity clothes, the only place I have been able to find them is destination maternity but they are outrageously priced so I never got maternity clothes. I have a baby bump, most of the fat you carry in your stomach area will round out and form the bump. With a little fat still showing underneath.

No complications over here at size 18 prepregnancy. I've gained like two pounds, but honestly my weight fluctuated about 10 pounds a week before I got pregnant. I'm 22 weeks now and I think I look wider from the side, but I still have to tell people I'm pregnant :/ hope my bump comes soon! Also, I feel my baby move every day now since 20 weeks.

I'm plus sized.. WAS  about a size 20.. I'm now 34w3d... I've had no complications so far..only thing happened is I was working too much and moving into a new apartment at the same time.. so that threw me into pre term labor on the 7th but thank god  they was able to stop it:)... other than that it's been a great pregnancy... at first I just looked huge.. but you can definitely tell I have a baby bump...!

Its funny drs tell us we'll have issues being bigger but actually skinnier women do bahaha we're just perfect sized for making babies! Just make sure you walk everyday and start stretching so labor isn't too rough. The health risk with being bigger is they think we all have diabetes cause of it. I wonder if they also think we eat worse cause we're big. I personally eat healthier then thinner women, irritates me when they assume I eat fast food and junk!

I am plus sized 15 wks 3 days a size 18-20 and although my doctor says my pregnancy is high risk because of weight my pregnancy has been pretty normal...only thing was I had to do glucose test early in pregnancy and will again once I get further along...other than that my weight has not complicated my pregnancy at all...as far as a baby bump,I'm still waiting on my to pop out...I feel my waist filling out but it just feels as if I am getting fatter and not round with Baby...I'm guessing in about 5 more wks my belly should really pop...but don't be surprised if you don't pop out right away...its normal when you have more cushion lol...I sure as heck can't wait though...good luck

I'm plus size also my co worker was as well the only thing I've had an issue with so far was hearing the heart beat early on at like 10w I think it was but ultrasound was all good and my co worker said not to be surprised when you don't feel the baby moving for a while it takes a little longer because we have more padding but I'm glad you posted this I was wondering the same thing

I am not a plus size mum, but I do know some. The only major complications would be things such as gestational diabetes. You are at a much higher risk if you are overweight. And this can affect baby. Good luck with your pregnancy. It will also probably take you longer to feel your baby move. I have felt movements since 14-15w and my SIL who is also a FTM and when I last saw her she was 23w and still hadn't felt any movements

Im 26 weeks and a size 16 at 5'7". My belly is rounding, but it still has that layer of fat :( hopefully it'll get solid soon. As far as the ultrasounds go, they come out fine and just as nice as everyone else's. I have noticed that I've been very short of breath as if I were out jogging or something lol other than that everything's been ok.
