plus size mums

Hey all, im just feeling mega down, at the start of my pregnancy I had a bmi of 30.7 and I got told that it was completly fine by my midwife, I recently changed my hospitals, and as a result my midwife told me id need to wait for an appointment to get my blood taken ect so they could make their own notes, well I went yesterday and the doctor told me I had been refered for my weight! I now have a bmi of 39 and I cant stop worrying about all the problems I might get, and im also quite down as I feel my midwife hasnt done her job properly and neglected my care by not telling me whats going on, I was so upset yesterday when I found out, and I would love to have my mind at ease, any of you lovely mums been through this and its turned out fine? X

Oh hun you and babe will be totally fine as long as u take care of yourself. ET healthy and drink plenty of water and u will be fine. I was extrenely overweight with my first and had a high bmi and i delivered a healthy baby boy naturally. I lost a ton of weight after my first pregnancy and now pregnant with my second and continue to watch what i eat because i dont wanna gain all the weight back. U will be just fine:) Dont get discouraged u will do great and if u gain alot of weight which is sometimes unpreventable then u can work hard at taking it off afterwards:)

My bmi is 40 and my doctor hasnt said anything at all. i actually brought it up to her and she said its not much of a concern. im 6 months pregnant and only gained 3lbs so far and at every prenatal appointment i ask about my weight and they tell me not to worry and that i am healthy and so is my baby. i was told If u have a high bmi its recommended that you gget monthly ultrasounds to check the babys growth,  which is fine with me because i love seeing my baby girl every month! Dont worry about it, as long as you are making healthy choices you and your baby should be fine!

Aww dont get down. Whats ur weight and height. Im 5 8 and weighed 205 at beginning and my dr hasnt said anything about bmi. He did say i might have to see a nitrition to get my weight under control necause last month i gained 9 lbs but only 12lbs total. Just try to eat healtht and take ir prentals everything will be fine. Try to stay away from sugar so ur chances of getting gest diabetes are lower. Message me if u wana talk.

Which explains why your bmi is so high now, thats not ur original bmi so god knows why ur doctors saying that! All I can say is I have been on a health program called shine and as long as you look after yourself, and keep healthy and ensure your baby gets all the nutrients you need, however there is a iincreased chance with ggestational diabetes but even with a low bmi you can get this, also there is a higher chance of a c section that you wont be able to deliver natrally, but alot of mums do, pre eclampsia is also a higher chance because your blood pressure is probably already higher but dont worry cuz people with low bmis also can get all of these things its just something that happens

How far gone are u? And ur bmi is bound to change! Because ur gunna get bigger... that will be ur maternal bmi! And im sorry but because your bmi is high does not necessarily mean you will get any problems with your baby!! It just increases the chance of having problems! It really annoys me its just the same as people smoking during pregnancy, it could mean your chances of problems will be highet but doesnt mean u will defiantly get it! Im sorry but I had a higher bmi than you because im so short and I have been going to different groups for the bmi and they say it just increases the chances of problems but as long as u eat healthy while ur pregnant and make sure u look after urself u should be ok.. sorry but thats annoying
