positive blood test .. no baby?

Hi my names Brittany, I havent had a period in a long time. I had 2 messed up test at home and a positive and when I say messed up test I mean a line in the positive and negative. I went to the health department and the urine test was negative so I decided to go too the emergency room where they conducted a blood test which came up positive. they did and ultrasound but they didnt see anything. What does this mean? I was instructed to find and OBGYN and go to them in a couple weeks but im still EXTREMELY confused.

It could also mean its too early to see anything on an ultrasound.  I would follow up with a doctor in a few weeks.

it might also be an ectopic...i had that in the summer.  All the test were positive but when I had an ultrasound she said "are you sure you're pregnant"?
that was a bummer...

hope everything turns out ok.

it could mean that your HCG levels are not high enough to result in a positive urine test or that you had a miscarriage.  they want to you wait to go to the OBGYN because your levels should increase by 60% every 48 hrs so they can order more tests.

I know I had 5 positive HPT tests but the day I went to the dr to confirm ti the urine test there was negative. within about 15 mins of my appointment, the miscarriage started. A week later, I was sent to emerge and they referred me to an OBGYN or atleast they were supposed to because they thought I needed a D&C.  but the referral was lost and ended up causing a lot of issues for me.  Hopefully you don't have that happen to you, its not the most fun thing to go through.
