Sorry I read your post wrong. But just because you had a positive doesn't exactly mean that you will dilate or go into labor. Even if you do dilate that doesn't mean you will go into full blown labor but trust me I can understand how scary this is. I'm constantly contracting and my cervix was funneling the last time they checked me two weeks ago. I'm scared to find out if I'm dilated at my appointment on Wednesday.

I know what it does. That's why I said positive test. Mine was positive. I was just seeing how soon people dilated afterwards because of the contractions, etc.

I had one done 2 days ago I haven't got the results of it I been having contractions and I'm not dialated either. He gave me a prescription to get and I take the medication at night it help to relax the uterus and stop contractions. But not completely and keeps you from going into preterm labor.

It's just a swab culture of your vagina. I get it done every two weeks because of my contractions. It determines if you're at risk of going into labor within next two weeks. If it's negative than you have a 99% chance of not going into labor and if it's positive than that only means you have a 50% chance of going into labor.
