Hi, my first c-section came about after i had been in labour for 8 hours, had my waters broken (turns out they only broke my fore waters asonce taken out she came with a gush) and an epi - this I feel then slowed down progress as i was 5cm at this stage. I then was given potocin which caused fetal distress as contractions were to strong and her heart beat was slow to come back to normal. They said I could wait and see what happens in the nect few hours or get her out now via c-section. Being my first baby and feeling rather scared at this point I justwanted her out and safe so I elected to get her out. By the time I was fully preped I was also fully dialated and she had settled so Iwish i had been able to wait and be calmer but then you never know it could have gone the other way if ihad waited.
Second c-section was elective as i then went on to have PND with my first and needed to try and control all aspects of the second birth. I was on meds, found out thesex and new the due date and method of delivery - very planned.
This time I eally want the excitment of going into labor as i have read all the posts about 'is this it or not etc' and it is so exciting. This is prob my last so i would like to try my options.
I wouldnt have a C section UNLESS
My baby was breech,
There were complications of me giving birth naturally
I wouldnt do it because i was scared... I dont want a scar..haa. No I just wouldnt. I'd rather pushh, Only so i can putmy partner through pain too! :)

It depends on the doctor. Some will allow you to have an elective c-section, meaning there is no medical necessity. But c-sections are far more dangerous and I personally don't recommend them unless it's ABSOLUTELY necessary.
Some doctors, as I said before, refuse to do a VBAC due to insurance and recommendations from ACOG. Other's are more willing.
Oh Okay, Thank you. :)
So you can choose to have either way, natural birth and can you choose a C section or do they do it only if its NEEDED... Because someone I know gave birth naturaly the first time, baby is fine (Now 17) Naturally second time (passed during Birth.) but then chose to have a C section to avoid stillbirth happening again??
I feel so silly asking all these questions... Sometimes it feels I should know this all by now

Yes it's a normal, vaginal birth after you have given birth by cesarean section with a previous pregnancy
What basically a Natural birth even though you've had C-sections in the past???

Vaginal delivery after a c-section
Whats a VBAC?? I am so unsure, sorry.

Congrats. I hate docs who won't do VBAC based on insurance b.s. I'm pregnant with pregnancy #8 (6th to make it out of 1st trimester) I tried to switch to a new doc this time but they would have forced me into another C-section EVEN THO my first one was FOURTEEN years ago and I've had FOUR successful VBACS since, I ended up going back to my old doc who let me VBAC (induced) last time.
I saw go for thevbac if he thinks it's safe my second was a vbac as will this one be fingers crossed. My personal choice was natural for me was better. Good luck. They monitor vbacs closely in labour just in case as well.
