umm just cuz you write about Breast Feeding doesnt mean your post should be removed? I see posts on THIS forum of "Off topic, just venting" all the time.....thats stupid
Yeah, your supply starts to regulate around twelve weeks. This is when you can drop a pump or go longer between feedings. kellymom has some great tips on bfing, supply, and supplementing. I used that site religiously while I was relactating.
She will be four weeks Tuesday
You can give her the formula, but make sure you pump for at least twenty minutes. If I remember right, she's only a week or two old and your supply will decrease if you drop a feed or pump too early. If you pump an give her formula, you might do better covering up with one of her blankets or investing in a nursing cover and just continuing to breastfeed. Ultimately it's up to you. supplementing won't hurt her, but it could cause you to lose your supply or have a significant decrease.
Also, if you're interested in the nursing cover, uddercovers has a promotion where you type in the code an just pay shipping.
To answer your question, i'd say get a nursing cover. There are great ones out there that look like an apron you put around your neck and the upper edge is stiffened so you can just look down and see baby.
My son took an hour to nurse so I know it's frustrating to take all that time out from company. The cover fixed the problem!
Also, having some pumped milk stored up is good!
I posted there for you :)
You can go to her profile and look at the posts. I just don't know the answer or I'd try and help. Sorry momma
