To tell my employer Im pregnant?

I desperately need a job but Im 12 weeks pregnant . I appled for a job today and surprisingli got hired the same day. Im not showing yet so I didn't disclose it. My performance should be hinder as it's a reception job thats part time. I am not using their health insurance or any benefits. The hours are in the evening show I shouldn't have issues with doctor appt conflicts. I really want the job and would want to go back there when I deliver as long as I get a little time off for giving birth. She offered me the job and I accepted never diclosing I'm pregnant. How should I deal with it? Should I wait for a month or so or tell them immediately?

I would say if you are not doing work that could put the baby in danger then why say anything.Go to work, do your job and they will find out on there own. Proof yourself as a good employee first.

Just depends on the company really. Some are really cool about it, and others just don't care. Hopefully yours does though, jobs can be tough to come by in our economy right now.

I meant to say not hinder. Yeah Im really torn. Im going to start showing in a month or two but I'll be happy if they let me work until my due date. Maybe they'll be nice and rehire me when I can work again. I don't plan n staying home very long.

Well... That's your choice and what you're comfortable with. Most will say don't tell, its not their business, blah blah. However you might not get time off and might have to leave when baby is born. For FMLA you usually have to have do so many hours and been there for a year or do (varies depending on the state) and it's really the companies choice to approve time off (just being pregnant doesn't mean you qualify for any) It's something you'll definitely have to speak to them before long to get everything down and worked out.
