Pregger Puker w/ a Question

I'm 7 weeks and 2 days along, and day before yesterday, the morning sickness kicked in FULL throttle. I'm now limited to fresh ginger (ginger ale AND saltines make me throw up too. frikn rediculous), fruits and salads (my butt could use the diet anyway, LOL). But today when I took a prenatal, had not had any food yet because just thought of eating anything made my stomach churn. About 45 minutes later, I upchucked EVERYWHERE. I didn't eat anything after taking the pill either. When it came back up in tasted like the vitamin (Sorry, TMI) and that's the only thing I could think of that came up back...

So if you throw up your prenatal... should you take another one? lol. It's a question I've been scratching my brain over all day.

Also, I had been having intermittent cramping for the past 4 weeks and actually went the rest of the day today without any after my affair with the bathroom sink (didn't make it to the bowl), but now it's that constant discomfort in my WHOLE abdominal area as if I just had a rigerous ab-workout... I think I've thrown up MAYBE 5 times in my life up until day before yesterday. ONCE during my first pregnancy and since day before yesterday I've yakked 6 times. Hasn't been cool. So I'm also wondering if I just really need to take it easy with everything else after I make nice with my bathroom? It's kind of wishful thinking w/ a toddler around and a husband who's MIA at a training school... but I just want to make sure that there's no damaging effects to the baby from the constant contracting of the abdomen when you're vomitting. TYIA :)

I puked 10 to 15 times a day and pulled all the muscles in my upper body. I remember the doc telling me that the muscle strain would not harm the baby.

I also don't think one day of a skipped vitamin will harm you, I'd try taking them at night right before you go to bed. That was the only way I could keep mine down. Then in the morning I kept jolly ranchers next to the bed and would pop one in my mouth before sitting up. I don't know why, but I never threw up with a jolly rancher in my mouth. Silly huh?

I feel for you sooo much! I was vomitting everyday from 6 weeks until I hit 20 weeks! Not fun at all. I could barely keep anything down. I was told to cut back or not even take my prenantal as this made me feel worse. The baby will get what he/she needs from you in the beginning. I was also told to eat whatever sounded or smelled good at the time. Bagels were wonderful and kept me full for a while. water was out for the longest time for me. If I had juice or iced tea, I would just water it down a bit. Also, an empty stomach makes you feel really sick also! Try to make sure there is always something in your tummy!! =) I really hope you feel better soon! Take it easy!

Ok, I know how you feel!  I was sick for 5 mo w/my DD.  I was a teacher and my students knew that I had to run out of the room a few times a day!  One time I had to call the janitor to clean up the mess I made it the hall. I should have blamed it on a student!
I agree, take your prenatal before bed.  I still have to do that and I'm not even preg again yet...Also, those preggo pops made me puke.  The only thing I could have was vegetable broth, saltines, and ginger ale.  (I know u puke over those) so make sure whatever you can have eat a litttle bit all day long.  Dont ever get "hungry"...most of the time I couldnt keep my prenatals down and I begged my doc to give me drugs but she would not give me any drugs unless I was in the hospital hooked up to IV's and really dehydrated!!!  UGH...so she told me to get  a liquid vitamin to pour in food and drinks.  The smell of it made me sick so I had to have someone else pour it!
GOOD LUCK!

Oh, and try taking your vitamin before going to bed instead of in the morning.  This might help you keep it down.  And I don't think it is necessary to take another vitamin.  If they are just too much to take, you may want to try to get a children's vitamin for now.  My kiddos like the gummy vitamins.

Oh girl, I feel for you.  I know it's AWFUL!!  Here are some things that I try when I'm pregnant but they will only help temporarily.  My doc prescribes Phenegren for me.  It will make you VERY sleepy so take it at night if you are able to get some.  I've heard of Zofran also but I have never taken it so I can't speak for it.  The Phenegren didn't help me much but other ladies on the forum say it helped them a lot.  I also found this tea.  It's ginger/peach flavored tea.  It is made by The Republic of Tea.  I got it from a big grocery store in a specialty section.  If you can't find any, I'd order some from their web site.  Their website may even have stores where you can find it.  I got it from a store called HEB but I know they only have those in Texas.  I've also heard of these things called Preggo Pops.  They're suckers/lollipops for pregnant women.  You can find those at Babys R Us.  I don't know how well they work because I found out about them during my last pregnancy but I was past the "sick" period by the time I did.  Also try some peppermint ice cream.  The regular stores only sell it during the holidays (Blue Bell) but you can find it at the ice cream stores year round.  It's light and the calcium is good for you and the baby.  You can also take Tums and Mylanta/Malox throughout your pregnancy too.  I've heard to not let your stomach get empty but I know that's hard to do.  When I'm pregnancy, my morning ritual is to throw up every morning when I brush my teeth.  It was so bad that I stopped brushing at night for a while because I just made me so sick.  I hope this helps some.  These are some things that helped me some.  But getting to my 2nd trimester helped me the most!!  LOL!  Feel better soon.....
