pregnant with toddler in th house..

I don't know how far pregnant I am yet but its not very far. I have a 2 year old daughter who is extreamly hyper and cannot talk. She runs around like the tazmanian devil and gets into everything I'm so tired all the time but I have to chase her around all day long to keep her out of stuff. When she gets mad at me she kicks me in my stomach really hard and she thinks its funny. How do you do it with toddlers and pregnant?

It sounds like your discipline strategy isn't working. Rather than trying to punish away misbehavior, think of discipline as a teaching tool. And keep in mind that there are two things your child needs in order to learn what you want her to: Ability and motivation.

Say your 2-year-old refuses to pick up her toys when you ask her to, and you give her a time-out. What has she learned? To pick up her toys? To follow directions? In fact, she's probably learned neither. Instead of giving her a time-out, try approaching the situation as a teaching task — you're going to teach her how to pick up her toys when you ask. Start by making a game of following directions. Warmly say to her, "Come to me!" and give her a hug or kiss when she does. Once she gets the idea, move on to teaching her how to pick up her toys. Make it fun, too: "You walk the dolls over to the shelf, and I'll help them jump up into their places." Now she has both the ability and the motivation to complete the task.

Teaching your child self-discipline requires ability and motivation on your part too. It's a process that takes know-how, time, and energy — but the payoff is well worth it.

And hitting is her way of releasing her frustration. Learning to talk or at least in some way communicate her feelings other than in a negative manner would really help. Some children are more head strong than others and its going to take a lot of effort. But if your tactics spanking/ timeouts ex. Are not working you have to try some new ones spanking her after hitting would be telling her its OK to hit because she is so young so it is kinda like a game to her.

If you are looking for discipline help try to redirect her at that age spanks really do not work. Being active is normal for the age and stage. Good luck.

Its babies cant wair in GA. Just google your state and early intervention, and give them a call see if they can help. It helped my daughters. One is autistic and the early therapy was a life saver. She still has some struggles but not like she would if we had no help.

I can understand. With my twins at that age they did not talk or understand much. Where do you live if I can ask? There are organizations that can help you with the speech problem, and that may help her behavior a lot. In arizona its arizona early intervention and its free. In GA they have a program also. Let me look up the name. It has been a while.

What does " when she is home" mean? Does she stay else were at times?
Twos can be tough hense the term "terrible twos" lol but allowing her to continue with the behavior will only make it worse. You have to discipline her a bit more and maybe get her in some speech therapy. My daughter is three and never shuts up. I had to be stern with her and set a lot of boundaries cause she was a brat at two. But is now very well behaved. Every once in awhile she reverts back a bit and can get into trouble but all toddlers do!
I also have a 5 year old but he is every parents dream child has been since birth lol.

Thank you my 2 year old doesn't behave at all when she's home she is like no 2 year old I've ever seen I try to tell her there's a baby but I dont think she is understanding what I'm saying and I really don't know because she won't talk and doesn't want to learn how to.

Im pregnant with a 3 year old but she's very well behaved luckily. You need to explain to your daughter that there is a baby in mommy's tummy and she can hurt it by kicking you, and make sure you discipline her when she does it! I agree with the tiredness though it is difficult! But that can only be helped through eating and drinking the right things to keep your energy up. I hope this helps!
