worsening hip pain during pregnancy?

Just a question out of curiosity. I'm still waiting to see if I may be pregnant though as of right now I believe I have the majority of the signs but still to early to test. My question is if you have pre-existing hip pain if it could be made worse during pregnancy? A girlfriend at work said it might but everyone is different. While sound advice it didn't do much to comfort me. My current hip pain is still being diagnosed but is due to running too much. I have an MRI scheduled (which may have to be rescheduled if I am pregnant) later this month to see if the pain is due to stress fractures. As of right now the pain comes and goes but I'm curious as to if the injury will cause complications/pain later.

Well that's good to know. I was afraid I would have to cancel my MRI if I was pregnant which with as long as my hip pain has been going on, I would have been upset about since I'm dying to find out what is actually causing my pain.

I had bilateral hip replacement about 15 months ago...just gave birth two weeks ago. Yes...it made my hip pain worse. You can still get MRIs preggo...good luck!!

when your pregnant the hormones in pregnancy also relax your ligaments which can lead to hip pain, also later on in pregnancy as well as siatic pain you may get, the extra weight of baby, that you have to carry around can also cause hip pain

The baby can cause siatic(sp?) nerve pain but i'm not sure how early in pregnancy. I know I dewlt with it at around 16 weeks pregnant. I'm not sure about your case but i'd say it's possible.
