The prenatals i took made me extremely sick so i asked the pharmacist and he said taking a regular vitamin and a folic acid pill would be just as good.

I took the prescribed ones with my first baby they gave me stomachache sometimes. With my 2nd I've been taking Target store brand working just fine and much cheaper than the RX ones. It cost me $16 every 30 days vs $6 every 140.

I take over the counter prenatal vitamins, always have. They gave me sample packs at he doctor and they made me severely constipated. It's trial and error until you find something that fits you. I also found that some made me sick to my stomach as well, which isn't fun when you are already nauseous in the first trimester. I now take Nature Made prenatal multi-vitamins w/ DHA, have used them since theend of my first trimester and will stick with them . Everyone is different, but I found that OTC are just as good as prescribed. I talked to both of my OB's about it and they reassured me that it was perfectly fine.

For now, take otc vitamins. At your first appointment they will usually give you a script for a bottle of them and they are 10x better and you get way more for a fairly low cost.

You can take a over the counter prenatal vitamin. But you should go see a doctor and get a script from him/her because the vitamins they perscribe are better for you and the Baby
