With my second I was having what I thought were braxton hicks...they were tightning of my stomach not super painful I could talk through them. Just to be safe I went and had them checked and they were real contractions. Its always better to get checked out to be sure, better safe than sorry.
I went into preterm labor four times with my second son after falling on some ice. It feels just like real labor nothing different from going into.labor at full term. Your contractions will be really close and they hurt like HE double hockey sticks.
Thank you ladies... Yeah mine felt like a really bad stomach ache. Was told they were braxton hicks... But with my 3 boys my braxton hicks never hurt or felt this way.
I have experienced preterm labor with every pregnancy (this is my 4th). The contractions I have are just tightening in the whole belly and it is uncomfortable. Mine are not extremely painful but uncomfortable. Plus if you have 5 in an hour then you should call the dr because then they can check to see if they are actually contractions and check the cervix. I have been told the only difference between Braxton Hicks and preterm labor is if the cervix dialates. Hope this helps!
I never had braxton hicks with my 1st. I went in for my 34wks check up n I was 3cm(which was on a thursday) Sat night it felt like someone had tied 100pounds to a string n hung it off my private. I didnt think it was a concern bcuz it was only when I stood up. So sun am at 1 I thought I had a really really bad stomach ache n I tried to make #2 on toilet. It was like that all the way to 9am. So I finally called my dr to check what was up. I went in er n I was 4cm gave birth at 7pm. Hope that helps, I never knew contractions would feel like a bad stomach ache for me.
i had preterm labor..u really dont know if its braxton hicks or not..idk actually i could be wrong...but what happened with me is i was only like 5 and a half mnths and i never had BHs my whole pregnancy..so when i felt sharp pains i called my mom n she said oh ur fine and explained what BHs were..so i just thought maybe i was being a wuss but then the pain got alot worse..it felt like contractions after a while and i couldnt even stand up,sit down, anything without being in pain.so i went to the hospital and they put the moniters on my belly and said i was contracting..and obviously it was WAY to early for that so they gave me meds to slow them down and had me on bed rest and the contractions stopped...but if ur worried u should just call ur ob and go make sure.it doesnt hurt, and if something is wrong and u dont go u will regret it.
Ive never experienced pre term labor im sorry. But my dr says if u have continuous contractions and they dont stop with walking or change of position than go to labor & delivery.
