progesterone hormone shot?

So I went to my doctors today for my ob Apointment and i found out im a high risk pregnancy because my last daughter came at 34 weeks. They have prescribed me a progesterone hormone shot that i have to do myself every week! Its kind of scary and i really wish i didn't have to poke myself with a needle every week but its to help keep me from going into labor early again. Has any one else had to do this? They told me one i start i can't stop till the babys born oror it won't work. I'm so nervous! But I'm Hong it keeps me and baby healthy and in there till I'm at last 39 weeks.

How far along are you krysi25? If you're past the point of miscarriage they probably don't see the need for it Any more but i would talk to your doctor about you're worries and see if they'll let you stay on it for a few more weeks if possible. It shouldn't hurt anything it just keeps you from going into Labor.

I'm not sure what its called the papers just say progesterone hormone. And I'm so nervous to do itmyself. My DH is terrified if needless so he won't help me either so I'm stuck doing it on my own.
