protein in my urine?

Today i had the midwife and she said i had protein in my urine she's sending me to my gp tomorrow for further tests im 25 weeks pregnant what does it mean when you have protein in you're urine? I read that it could be early stages of pre clampsina or diabetes?

If you have 90grams of protein a day you most likely will not get pre eclampsia.  It has been studied.  But if you have it already idk if that will change

Pre eclampsia is pretty common now a days most people with this will deliver weeks early and you will be closely monitored for the rest of your pregnancy to check that the baby is not stressed or at risk for premature labor.

Well she sent me away with a big red urine tub to pee in tomorrow morning and I've to fill it right up :/ if pre eclampsia is positive what will happen to my baby? :/

Yeah it can mean either of those. Sounds like doc is going to request you do a 24 hour urine test. You pee in a jug for 24 hours straight and refrigerate. Then dr can tell if yoy have pre eclampsia or diabetes.  But small amount of protein is no big deal. Good luck

Well a little bit is fine. But if its a lot it could be pre eclampsia
