I Agree With @princesslo007 . Doctor said it was okay to me, nothing is effective. But check in with your doctor.
I pumped to try to help kixkstart labor. It didn't work for me. But I was in preterm labor for 5 weeks with my stubborn little boy (ended up being induced at 39 weeks) and my milk came in exactly to the minute 3 days after my son was born and my milk was NOT effective. In fact I produce so much I've had to pump and dump just to relieve my breasts. And my son is gaining 35 grams per day, when they say newborns only need to gain 30 grams a day. I suggest discussing this with your doctor. Since my doctor said it was okay, that's why we did it.
@latiina_29 they now say you cannot even pump the first two weeks bc babys saliva and the skin contact is necessary for the milk to change properly so baby does not miss out on any vital nutrients.
Thanks ladies. (: I'm definitely not gonna do that then! Also not gonna sit around for hours a day rubbing my nipples haha.
Thats weird because my doctor said nipple stimulation and breast Pumping provokes contractions because your body releases a hormone that causes contractions. I was just breast Pumping the other night and i started to get contractions. But Im Not Breast Feeding So Maybe you Should check with your Doctor And be Sure its Okay To Do That and if it causes anything
Nooo. Do not ever pump before birth unless a doctor tells you to do so.
No. Pumping prior to birth will ruin your milk supply for baby and can even make you unable to breastfeed future babies. Nipple stimulation should be done with hands, toy, or your boyfriend for several 1hour long sessions a day for several days if you hope to induce labor that way.
