Heya ask your midwife about the healthy start vitamins and vouchers if your entitled to them. That way as soon as you stop ur folic acid you can start the healthy start vitamins which are free and have everything we need in them :)
im in the uk and my doc only told me to take folic acid for the first 12 weeks and when i went to c him bout taking vitamin d he was like no u dont need that and told me i dont need to take anything x
I'm in Australia, the best one here is called elevit.
Oh and 6yrs ago you stopped taking them at 12wks but now they want us to carry on. I dont take them faithfully...I already have 2 healthy kids and wasnt asked to take them after 12wks...your diet will account for most of what is necessary, get out in the sun (when there is any!) for your vitamin d and you will be fine
The midwife gave me some folic acid tablets, they also have vitamin d in them, which apparently they now recommend (they didnt 6 yrs ago!!) I wouldnt waste money on an expensive one, most of them have the same ingredients and if you're anything like me it will be a hit or miss if you even remember to take them!! Look at the labelling and you will likely find the cheap ones aren't missing anything important.
Folic acid is good to take all the way thru your pregnancy.
