question

Is a contraction where it hurts as your belly tightens? Sorry if I seem so stupid for asking but I've asked what it should feel like at my midwife appts and all they say is 'you'll know'.. I'm a ftm so I'm clueless

Braxton  hicks to me seem more like  period cramps  can be painful depends on your pain level real contractions are way worser and kind stop you in your tracks take your breathe way with tighten in your belly and sometimes back but if you feel something isn't right it won't hurt to get checked or call your doctor

So pls dont listen to anyone but yourself, if you feel somethings up, it prolly is. You know your body more than anyone else even if you dont understand yet what it is happening. All I can say is that my braxton.hurts hurt like period cramps, and when I was actually ona active labor it was just belly tightening. Its crazy but thats how my body works. :$

Honestly its different for anyone just make sure to time them and if it precedes for more than an hour or two and youve tried changing positions, drinking water, etc and not go away they can be it. I never felt pains while being on active  labor I can go up to 5cm-6cm without no pain just my belly tightening and gets hard like a rock. Right when they pop my water its when the real deal happens but honestly you just never know. I have two babies and pregnant with my third.

Braxton hicks and contractions your belly tightens and releases . But with Braxton hicks if you change positions or drink some water it usually goes away right away. Contractions don't go away as easily. And they usually get worse
