fetal heart rate at 5 weeks 5 days

Hi all,
I had my first u/s today and jellybean measured at 5 weeks and 5 days the tech lady said it had a low heart rate of 94 bpm and that I need to go back in a few weeks for a follow up check to see if its stronger. This is my first child and I'm a little worried, I don't have morning sickness, sometimes I just feel blah. Should I be worried that I might loose bubs or am I just overreacting? And should I be worried that I don't get morning sickness?

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

Thanks guys you've helped me alot no need to stress now, just sit back and relax and wait for a bit. My next u/s is at 12 weeks so I have a few to wait yet. I'm glad to hear that not having morning sickness isn't a big thing, My mum said she never had morning sickness with any of us kids so I have no need to worry about that either I'm just lucky I guess. Thank you all very much I'll let yous know how my next u/s goes.

bye all

That's early to even see a heartbeat!  You are lucky :) at 6 weeks anything above 60 is great at your next us I bet it's in the 100's like 160!

Hi,
I was very similar to you,  My first ultrasound at 5w 2d had a heartbeat of 101bpm,   this worried me but the tech didnt seem concerned at all.  I didnt get another ultrasound until 12 weeks were the heartrate was 164.    I am not 18w 2d and my little man is doing just great.

I also didnt get any morning sickness for the first few weeks,  i was a little sick between 12-14 w  now between 16-18 w  not feeling sick but just throw up every now and then.

But everything is good.   Try not to worry,  all you can do is stay possitive and continue on with your day.
Good luck.

At 6w1d my daughters heartrate was 95 bpm and then at 10 weeks it was 173. They always start out slow and then get faster than the norm of 120-160 and then by like 13 weeks they stay in those norms. My daughter will be 3 next week so everything turned out OK for us!

Dont be worried. Thats too early of an ultrasound to give you an accurate result. My ob gyn only does them at 9-10 wks. Bc at 5 wks you are still whats known as the "MC" stage. Around 9-10 wks the heartbeat should be much better.

I guess my ob just doesnt "waste" energy before 9-10 wk. Thats all. Sometimes i wish doctors would wait. Bc they cause unnessesary stress for mom/dad. Next baby dont rush into ultrasound room, give baby time to grow and develop... you may be a wk behind you may be a few days behind... Thats all. good luck!

When the heart begins to beat it's slow, around where yours is now. After a week or two it starts to pick up and begins to get faster. I wouldn't worry yet. You're really lucky to have even seen the heartbeat this early. Most women don't for a long time. Symptoms don't mean anything. I've seen some women sick as a dog who miscarry and others who have nothing and carry full term. Symptoms are nothing more than your own bodies reaction to the hormones. They don't indicate that the pregnancy is viable or not. Good luck!

i wouldnt be worried..i went to my first appt and they wont even try to hear the heartbeat till im 12 weeks because they hate to make a woman worry if they dont find it or if its not that strong and what not..thats why they like to wait till the 10-12..usually 12 week mark. and dont worry about morning sickness..im about ten weeks and havent puked once! just relax :)

dont be worried that you don't get morning sickness, every woman is different and not everyone experiences the same symptoms, the more you worry the worse it it. just stay calm and relax :) thats the best u can do for bubs
