reacurrance of leukocytes?

my son was born premature at 35weeks due to my waters breaking in which they think i had infection which made them break! my son was perfectly healty just had problems feeding him... now im 31weeks with baby number 2 and my urine is really cloudy so i went to docs and i have leukocytes and protein in my urine so im on another cousre of antibiotics but this is the 3rd time in a month they have found a reaccurance of the leukocytes and protein is this normal? they allready think this baby is going to come early like my son but are the leukocytes going to be the cause of my preterm labour?

leukocytes are just white blood cells and are VERY common in the urine especially when we are pregnant (according to my Dr... I have had them alot too). Alot of times they get there from normal vaginal discharge and do not signal any type of infection unless they are accompanied by nitrates which I didn't notice that you mentioned. As far as the protein... are they watching you for pre-eclampsia?? That would be my worry with protein in the urine... not a bladder infection... but then again I'm not a Dr. I would definitely ask them about it though... has your blood pressure been up?? That can be a sign too.
If it makes you feel any better, my little girl was a preemie at 30 weeks (perfectly healthy 12 year old now) due to PPROM, but my son had to be induced at 36 weeks (due to pre-eclampsia). Now I'm 32 weeks with #3... so just because you went early once doesn't mean it will happen again. Good Luck mama! Hang in there and let us know how things go!
