It infuriates me that just because they're doctors doesn't mean they know everything...I know what is happening to my body they don't...she told me that I need to gain more weight as well...I was 122 prepregnancy and I'm at 151.2lbs now...really I honestly feel if I gain 10 more pounds that ill tip over or not be able to move. She just made me so angry like I didn't know what I was talking about...I felt like I had the I.Q. of a crayon.
That's just ridiculous of her. I told my doc at my 36 week app that I've been having contractions but nothing real regular and she checked me just in case. I see several diff docs but each one asks me to tell them how everything is and if I have any concerns etc. as pregnant women and mothers we are not doctors BUT we do have a little common sense and know what's going on with OUR OWNS bodies lol
That is just ridiculous, to tell you if you weren't dilated last week that you aren't now, and I'd make sure you discuss that with your doctor, because that's COMPLETE crap! I was 0cms dilated, NO change in cervix at all at my 40 week appt., I was in full labor and 3-4cms by the next morning, so it can happen very quickly. It sounds like your definitely on the right track, and probably are dilating with your contractions.
I asked her if she can check my cervix she flat out told me no. She said that if I wasn't dilated when my regular Ob checked me last week that I wouldn't be dilated now. Every contraction that I have puts me in so much pain...there is a ton of pressure like she's putting all her weight on my cervix I can't hardly move when I have a contraction.
Did you just ask her to check you or did you hint at it? Some doctors just DON'T like to do anything their patients ask of them because they think we know absolutely nothing. If she's had any kids she should know of COURSE you want to know if you're dilating at the end, just to give you a little hope and encouragement that things are moving along the way they should. Some doctors won't check at all before labor because it can introduce bacteria. I would wait til your next appt. and ask your regular OB to check you, and ask that you don't see her again. I hate seeing new doctors, I prefer to just see who I'm comfortable with.
