What about going to the ER to get an ultrasound?
i don't know what kind of insurance you have but that is crazy if your babies life is at risk they need to do an ultra sound anyways. that's the sure way of knowing i had a miscarriage at 8 wks and the bleeding did not stop but bleeding does sometimes occur during a pregnancy. i would also recomend going to ER
This happened to me as well and I was diagnosed with placenta previa. I went to the ER though and I recommend you do the same. I had heard my baby's heartbeat at that point so a combination of blood and the fact that you haven't heard the heartbeat yet would be more than enough for me to hightail it to the ER..
That's what I would do anyway. Good luck and keep usposted. Any excessive bleeding during pregnancy is a major concern, you definitely need an ultrasound
It is not unusual to not hear the heartbeat at 11 weeks. my Dr won't even try till after 14 weeks. That being said it ***** that your insuarance won't pay for an u/s, i guess your only option will be to pay for one yourself. Some bleed is normal for some people although it is pretty scary. What did your Dr reccomend doing?
An ultrasound costs about $300 out of pocket. If you go to the ER, I can guarantee you that you will end up paying WAY more than $300 for that visit and then theres still the issue of paying for the US. Is it possible that your insurance company will pay for an US when medically warranted? My insurance company would only pay for one US though out my pregnancy until I became high risk and then they paid for the rest.
