It happened to my friend, she was induced at 39w and bubby was only 4 pound 6oz, but she's fine.
Thank y'all for the advice I'm guilty of being an internet reader also the dr said they are going to monitor his weight and that it is a sign of downs but he isn't showing any of the other signs of it so they really aren't that concerned about.it gust have to do u/s every 4 weeks now and now I am 18w5d
I think its more common than we think. They may do extra ultrasounds just to make sure your baby is growing fine but like the PP said she didnt even know until birth and I think that is when most people find out about it. I wouldnt be to concerned about it. And try not to read to much on the internet as it will probably scare you more than needs to be. They internet has wonderful ways of putting things on thee to make everything seem worse case and trust me I am totally guilty of it. Hope you find some peace about it.
My son was born march 2010 and we didn't know he only had 2 vessels, it was discovered at birth. The placenta etc was sent away for testing but we have never had any answers! It never caused any problems during pregnancy or after his birth. He is now 2 and a half and has never had any health problems. Hope this puts ur mind a bit at ease xx
My SIL did, her daughter had the same issue, they were worried about her getting proper oxygen/food source, and were honestly concerned that she may be mentally retarded, slow developing, underweight, etc, but she is PERFECT, obviously we won't know if she's slow developing for a while, she's only a month, but she is perfect in health! Make sure you're not smoking and eating as healthily as you can, to ensure what doe get through to baby is as healthy as possible, good luck hun!
