side effects to birth control?

My husband and I are looking into birth control. We already have a 3 year old son, and I'm 6months pregnant with our daughter. We don't know for sure if we want more children in the future,so getting something permanent like tubes tied and vesectomy is out question for now. Plus we are both still pretty young I'm 23 he is 26.
How did the udi like mirena work for you?

Do you have the weight gain side effects with the mirena that's what I'm worried about. Still undecided about the mirena vs the.paraguard

I have had two mirenas since it took me 8 years to find a man to marry and have a baby with. My periods became almost non existant. They worked very well and it took me approximately 4 weeks to conceive after having mine removed. I know everyones experience is different but mine was good.

I am very interested in this kind also, i have already asked my Dr if she could put it in at my 6 week post check up as my BF and i are having our second and if we do have another it wont be for a few years at least... i am currently 6 months as well :) My Dr said lots of moms are very happy with the IUD... i know my one GF has the copper implant and isnt a fan of that kind but she has stuff going on that the Dr felt the non hormonal would be better for her... she has really mean periods with bad cramps and they last longer for her now.... i am really hoping with the hormonal one to not get my period after a while or at all as ill be nursing when its implanted :) So fingers crossed AF doesnt get a chance to come back...
