sleeping type thing??

So at my baby shower a close friend of the family bought a thing that goes on the bed that baby sleeps in. its got metal sides covered by foam and cloth and has a strap that keeps baby in and from turning over. now my question is, isnt this unsafe? i mean just bc its metal doesnt mean that if we put our baby in this that something wont happen to her. I mean we could accidentally pull our blanket up too far and cover her face. i dont want to be rude but im thinking about returning it back to the store. it seems very unsafe to me. i mean it could be useful if im doing something and need to put her on the couch or something. it says on the box its only recommended to be used for the first 3 months. any ideas yall?

If you know the name google it. Like if it was a co sleeper put "co sleeper reviews" you will be able to see peoples opinions. Or even going to the stores website and looking at reviews on there. That is your best bet.

Its not a co sleeper that attaches to a bed. it sits on top of the bed between the parents. The top part of it is square and down farther it has a part that goes between the babys legs like on bumbo seats and a strap. the babys feet just hang out after that. its hard to explain.

I am looking for one of those and plan on putting it on my registry. It's useful if you would like the baby to sleep with you because you don't have to worry about rolling on top of them. And also if you really wanted to, you could always put one side of your bed up against the wall so the baby could be in between the wall and you :)

I would return it. Those things could fall off the bed or anything. I have a playard with a bassinet, a changing table, and upper layer, and a lower playpen level. I had one with my last two and its the most amazing thing ever. At night i can roll it in the bed room and during the day into the living room. Baby is always safe.
