I guess the placenta is thin and there's almost no fluid. Now it a wait and see thing.
Have they said if there's anything wrong with the placenta, or does the baby A have lower fluid levels than it should, causing things to not develop?
They are now telling her they can't risk transfering fluid, because its too risky for baby B. To Cylst they are fraternal.
This is very devastating news for your sister and her family :-( I would think they might be able to help some with the kidney situation...possible find a donor after birth, but without lungs it would seem pretty hopeless :-( Their isn't anything they would be able to do after the baby was born to help the baby because it wouldn't be able to breath :-( I'm not a Dr. and hope I'm wrong!
Is she having identical, or fraternal twins?
They say they can try taking fluid from one baby to the other to try and help the devlopment, but it's risky to the healthy baby, they haven't really come up with anything else to try yet.
I'm so sorry that your sister is going through this, as well as your family. I myself am unaware of anything that can be done, but I don't have much knowledge (or any experience) with multiples pregnancies. Have you guys talked to her doctor at all, or is there any suggestions he can give you? I would think there wouldn't be, but health care has come so far that it might be possible.
