Not so much a question but really tear apart the answers. you want an OB that will take the time to explain things fully until YOU understand things. You need to feel comfortable and you need to know that this person is truly looking out for your best interest and not just shuffeling you through the mix so they can collect a check. First time pregnancies come with lots of questions and uncertainties and you want someone that acts like they care and understand that this isn't routine to YOU. Also, make sure the office and support staff are nice. There is nothing worse than a great doctor with staff that "forgets" about you or treats you rudely.
mumita~ Great things to ask!!
Be specific about what she should know in the first trimester to take care of her pregnancy (they usually leave you in the dark), what you should eat, avoid, etc. What are warning signs of something not going right...books that the OB recommends for her to read and area resources for pregnant ladies.
I think it is also important to ask the OB what their c-section, vaginal birth rates are as well as inductions and the use of drugs. If the OB is open to having a doula or reading her birth plan (if she decides to do one).
What the OB's thoughts are on Formula/breastfeeding. If there are lactation consultants in house or at the hospital.
If the OB is going to be the one to deliver her baby or if he has a rotating staff, if so then is she going to meet all of them.
And she should not settle for the first OB she meets, she should like the OB, trust and feel comfortable with him/her.
